Sunday Lunch with Topher Boehm
(Co-founder and head brewer at Wildflower Brewing and Blending, Marrickville Sydney)
On the 11th of November, Bar Romantica will be hosting Wildflower Brewing & Blendings (Marrickville, Sydney) co-founder and head brewer Topher Boehm for a three course Sunday lunch.
The lunch menu will feature the best summer produce seasonally available and a mix of native Australian ingredients. Four Wildflower beers will be served over the course of the lunch, including a new October release and two brand new releases for November.
After spending 4 years as a professional brewer in Sydney, Topher travelled extensively to Europe and his native Texas learning old-world techniques necessary to successfully make wild, mixed fermentation beers. He wants to create the beers he loves to drink and share them with friends. He is also ardent about sensory experiences, seeking gastronomic food and wine to challenge and develop his palate. Bar Romantica is extremely excited to be hosting Topher and pairing his beers for the lunch, which are regarded as some of the most exciting beers coming out of any brewery in Australia.

Tickets get you entry to the tasting and a licence to shake some bottoms into the night (we will be closed to the public).
The DJs will run from the end of the tasting until close (4PM-12AM), with the full dinner menu available throughout that time.

Meet the Maker - Onannon
Date: Tuesday 17th July

Wine: Two matching wines per course (new exciting releases and back vintage magnums)
Onannon spearhead Kaspar Hermann is partnering with Bar Romantica. The three course menu will showcase the best local and sustainable winter produce we can get our hands on, paired with six wines from Onannon's portfolio to discuss, digest and enjoy. Winter Beer Dinner - Stomping Ground & Wolf of the Willows
Date: Thursday 5th July

Beer: On arrival + two matching beers per course
Bar Romantica is partnering up with our friends at Stomping Ground and Wolf of the Willows for a winter beer dinner in July. The four course menu will showcase the best local and sustainable winter produce we can get our hands on, paired with eight beers from Stomping Ground and Wolf of the Willows. Bar Romantica is extremely passionate about all things local, seasonal and sustainable. For the kitchen, this means working closely with our vegetable supplier Paul (Days Walk Farm) in Keilor, whose organically certified produce dictates our daily changing menu. We source sustainably farmed and raised meat and seafood, and wild/foraged specialty items whenever we get the chance. On our beer taps, these ethics of local and sustainable means working exclusively with independent Melbourne/Victorian breweries. We believe as strongly in seasonality for beer as we do with food, rotating the styles on our taps to suit the season.
